Peel and Gudgin Opticians offer comprehensive, professional eyecare with a personal touch.
It is with great sadness that we pass on the news that David Hawkins died earlier this month. David first worked at Peel and Gudgin in the 1960s. He became a partner in the 1970s running the firm in the 1980s with his wife Sandy. They were joined by Chris Wilbraham in 1994. David and Sandie retired from Peel and Gudgin in early 2008. Many of you will remember him as a devoted family man with a passion for loud rock music. As a partner he drew on a wealth of experience in optics and had a great eye for detail, something that was much missed when he retired. The photo is of an article publicizing the Stowmarket practice moving to its current location in 1996.
